Software Engineering Intern | Summer 2026

About Vetra

Vetra is building the next generation of enterprise decision infrastructure. We use AI-driven simulation systems to model how complex business environments evolve under different decisions, enabling companies to test scenarios, understand tradeoffs, and act with confidence before committing resources. Instead of relying on fragmented tools, static analysis, or intuition, Vetra transforms company data and objectives into structured, interactive simulations that surface outcomes, risks, and optimal paths forward.

We operate at the intersection of AI, systems modeling, and real-world decision-making. Our platform is designed to become the intelligence layer across organizations where strategy, finance, and operations converge into one system for reasoning about what to do next.

We value ownership, clarity of thought, and the ability to work through complex problems without predefined answers. The work is demanding, but the impact is real. If you want to build something foundational not incremental, we would love to work with you.

About the Role

We're looking for a Software Engineering Intern who loves to build and thinks outside the box.

Responsibilities

  • Build and iterate on features across Vetra's frontend and backend infrastructure
  • Contribute to the development of our multi-agent simulation engine and the data pipelines that power it
  • Design and implement clean, scalable APIs and backend services
  • Build frontend UI components that help enterprise users configure simulations, view scenarios, and interpret structured outputs
  • Write clean, well-documented code and participate in code reviews
  • Identify technical gaps, propose creative solutions, and take real ownership of your work
  • Help make architectural decisions that will shape the product long after the internship ends
  • Learn and work alongside the Vetra team and other interns

You May Be a Fit If

  • Genuinely excited about startups
  • Strong full-stack skills with experience in both backend (Python, Node.js, or similar) and frontend (React, TypeScript, or similar)
  • An out-of-the-box thinker who approaches technical problems with creativity
  • Deep love for building, you have personal projects, things you've shipped, or problems you've solved just because you wanted to
  • High attention to detail, you notice edge cases, care about correctness, and don't ship something you wouldn't be proud of
  • Comfortable in fast-moving, ambiguous environments
  • Interest in AI, multi-agent systems, or data-intensive applications is a strong plus
  • Ideally pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
